Dear Parents:
Each year, the Los Alamitos Girls Softball League, through its coaches, nominates and elects All Star teams. Typically, there are two All Star teams within the 8u, 10u, one in the 12U division and this year will have a 6U team.
Before the coaches nominate the players in each division, they need to know which players and families are interested in being considered to represent LAGSL. This letter and form are to give all players the opportunity to opt in or opt out of consideration for the All-Star play.
The following is a brief synopsis of player selection:
- The coaches from each division will have a meeting with their respective commissioner. At this meeting, each coach will discuss the players on their respective teams.
- Each coach will be advised of which players would like to be considered for All Star nomination and possible selection, based upon the parent completion and submission of the attached form.
- Coaches will be instructed to watch as many games as possible so they can familiarize themselves with the players who indicated they would like to be eligible for nomination.
- Coaches will submit a list of 25 players (or less, based on amount of opt-ins), in the order of the most deserving, to the league president and respective division commissioner. The coach does not vote for his/her own players. The list is confidential.
- All Star teams are selected on or after May 1st.
LAGSL All-Stars Information
All-Star season is right around the corner and we as a league wanted to provide all the information up front before choosing to opt your daughter in. Here is the information regarding uniforms, uniform fitting, tournament dates and locations, and booking information for hotels for the away tournaments. All-Stars is definitely a commitment with a total cost of approx. $800.00.
- All-Star Registration will be between $250 - $300 depending on final team selection.
- You can pay the All-Star Registration fee online.
- We will also give you the option to pay the uniform fee with your credit card. At the fitting, we will add the balance to your account. Must be paid same day or uniform will not be ordered!

Required uniform purchased from LAGSL:
All Star starter package
2 pants
2 uniform jerseys
2 practice jerseys
1 visor and 2 headbands
Helmet w/ decals
Backpack or Catchers Bag
Teams are encouraged to find sponsors to help with the cost of the uniforms.
Mandatory Uniform Fitting Day:
All players will be fitted for uniforms on TBD.
2024 LAGSL All-Star Tournament Schedule
There will be 1-2 out of town/overnight tournaments.

Note: The District and State tournament dates above are approximations based on when they are normally scheduled, but subject to change pending final schedule release from USA Softball of Southern California.
Practices:
Start on May 5th and occur daily for approximately 3 hours when not playing in a tournament.
If this is an opportunity you would like to have your daughter participate in, please complete the opt in form by April 15th.
It is important that our league know if your daughter has participated in any way on a travel type team. Players can participate in travel ball between January 1, 2024 and March 31st, 2024 and still participate in All-Stars. However, as a league we cannot have more than four players on the same All-Star team who fall into that category. Anyone that participates with a travel team in any way after March 31st, 2024 is ineligible for All-star participation.
